MARKSMAN

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] The Marksman is a class that’s underappreciated by the typical pub lobby but used often in comp/ranked. There was a patch (1.7.1) that buffed the Marksman fire rate and that made it really strong.

Some people use an auto-clicker with Marksman which is definitely a bad thing to do (in fact, I tried it myself to test the max fire rate). But I don’t think it’s even necessary nor even desired since you have a small clip.

I would say though that one of the keys to using the Marksman well is clicking fast. Then, you can beat Triggerman in 1v1 matchups with your faster time-to-kill.

AGENT

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] I once noticed that Agent was banned in a Krunker tournament and I admit I was thoroughly confused. I only understood some of the Agent's strength when playing Ranked and my opponent clutched the game for his team on the last point of Undergrowth using Agent, curvesliding while spraying around the corner and into the point.

Like the rocketeer, I don’t yet fully understand this class. It appeals to new players since it’s simple and you can’t even aim-down-sights. But certainly, the fast time-to-kill is the main reason to play Agent.

ROCKETEER

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] Notice how I haven’t yet made a video guide on Rocketeer yet? That’s because I am not yet sure the best way to play this class. You see it banned in comp due to being able to clear the hardpoint easily or spam a corner if you control the point. It also went through a pretty drastic re-work: adding the ability to rocket jump, increasing the “clip” size to 2 rockets per reload, and severely reducing the rocket damage. But I’ll have to experiment more with this class.

Right now, it feels that the rockets just don’t do enough damage and I found it so hard to get kills with the launcher itself. However, since the Rocketeer can use a secondary, I’ve enjoyed playing Rocketeer as a Deagler or “Alien Blasterer” since you get a nice sturdy 130HP.

SPRAY N PRAY

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] Spray N Pray is very much a love-or-hate type of class. If you don’t mind the slow reload time, slow ADS, and slow speed, this is a really strong class. In fact, in the top 2 best classes in the game I’d say. No other class forces the opponent to respond in the same way that Spray N Pray does.

And if you enjoy Spray N Pray, you might find the movement more enjoyable too. Since Spray N Pray is so thicc, you don’t jump very high. You “fast-fall”. And that means you get MORE slidehopping in.

And lastly, Spray N Pray can beat hackers. Or at least give you a chance. Hackers with aimbot scripts tend to pick Hunter a lot, and Hunter can’t 1-shot kill you.

VINCE

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] There is no other class in Krunker that is as polarizing as Vince. I’ve seen a lot of people suggest that Vince doesn’t take skill and that the shotgun has too much range. However, I just don’t think that Vince is as good in every situation compared to other best classes like Triggerman. Vince also has a very different playstyle. Due to the shotgun-jump mechanic, the skill-ceiling with Vince can be high.

Vince is the type of class that can be too strong in certain situations, so that’s why Vince is often banned in leagues/tourneys.

The video below shows Vince in action but note that it’s pretty outdated - the shotgun jump mechanic didn’t exist back then.

RUN N GUN

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] The Run N Gun is a pretty great full-auto class. You have a super-fast time-to-kill especially at short range. And you can do well in medium range too. I just think that the Triggerman is the better full-auto class currently. The RUN N GUN also can’t equip a secondary weapon.

The past few balance changes to RUN N GUN have buffed the class with Patch 1.5.5 increasing hipfire accuracy and Patch 1.7.8 increasing clip size to 28. But hipfire doesn’t really matter and AK still has larger clip size.

The RUN N GUN is still very viable though.

DETECTIVE

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] The Detective is an amazing all-around class without really any bad matchups. It’s an all-arounder like the Triggerman, but if your thing is click-timing or “flick” style aiming, then the Detective is a great class for you.

I go back-and-forth on the Detective and rated the Detective relatively LOW in my “7 Best Krunker Classes” video. But I’ve been playing more Detective lately and I think I really underrated the class.

In theoretical time-to-kill matchups, the Detective isn’t great since it takes 28 frames (1 full second) to land 2 shots. For comparison, the Triggerman can kill in 17 frames. But the reality is that real games don’t boil down to TTK and pre-damaged opponents, often become 1-shot kills. And of course you 1-shot bodyshot the hunter, 1-shot headshot the marksman.

So as of right now, I feel that the Detective is one of the very best classes in the game.

HUNTER

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[UPDATED 3.7.2020] PHILZ NOTES: The Hunter offers a unique playstyle and is super fun to play, so that’s why you see it a lot. The Hunter hasn’t really received much balance changes lately and in my opinion, the class is well-balanced.

The Hunter is great for winning FFAs due to the points bonuses. It’s especially great for maps like Sandstorm that have long sight lines.

In Ranked, the Hunter is strong but not always a necessity compared to classes like Triggerman, Spray N Pray, and Detective. However, it’s really great on the long-range points in Hardpoint.

TRIGGERMAN

March 07, 2020 by philzgoodman

[UPDATED 3.7.2020] PHILZ NOTES: The Triggerman Guide video below was one of the very first Krunker YouTube vids I ever made. Since then, the Triggerman did receive some overall buffs to damage after some back-and-forth patch changes. Currently, the Triggerman is one of the best classes in Krunker and excels in every game mode whether it’s pub FFA games or ranked mode.

In PUB FFAs the Triggerman benefits from having a large clip size, a fast reload speed, and the ability to use a secondary weapon. For FFAs, I recommend using the Deagle or Alien Blaster. I personally really enjoy using the sawed-off shotgun w/ Triggerman. However, in FFAs, if you want to keep a killstreak going, it’s better to have a secondary since sometimes you are constantly fighting.

The initial recoil of the Triggerman feels somewhat negligible to me. Steady tracking is crucial, so you should practice that type of aim when playing Triggerman. I also feel that being able to slide-hop continuously while spraying (holding down left-click) is an important skill for Triggerman.

COMMANDO

March 03, 2020 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] The Commando is such a fun class and can potentially 1-burst a ton of classes but the problem is that some of those bullets have to be headshots. The Commando is certainly viable, you see it occasionally being ran in tournaments. But the problem is that there are other better options out there that overlap with the Commando like the Triggerman, Marksman, and Detective.

The Commando can kill in as fast as 14 frames but the Marksman is still faster than that and there’s more margin of error.

At least, now there’s some pretty cool skins available for Commando :)

BOWMAN

November 23, 2019 by philzgoodman

[PHILZ NOTES UPDATED 3.7.2020] A class that can 1-shot any other class in the game? Sounds pretty strong right? Not so fast. The Bowman relies on a projectile-based weapon rather than a hitscan weapon (where the shot doesn’t have bullet travel time). This makes the Bowman far less consistent than a class such as the Hunter. The other problem is that you have only 1 round of ammo in the ‘clip’, although your reload speed is pretty fast.

I can see the Bowman being useful in a few select situations. For example, the Bowman can 1-shot the Spray N Pray but the Hunter cannot. I’m not saying the Bowman has the advantage in this matchup though.

For now at least, the Bowman is a super fun class and a great way to flex on noobs.
